Cairns Airport (CNS): arrivals straight to reef, rainforest or resort
Cairns groups rarely stop in the city. Delegates head for the convention centre, incentive groups for Palm Cove or Port Douglas, and tour groups for the reef or Kuranda. The airport end is simple; the planning sits in the onward leg.
Two terminals, licensed zones
Both terminals, T1 International and T2 Domestic, set aside ground transport zones for commercial vehicles, buses among them. Anyone doing business on airport property must hold a Ground Access Licence from Cairns Airport, or its express written consent, and bus operators apply online. The public pickup zones outside each terminal are for immediate pickup and drop-off only, and the free Standby Zone is for private vehicles.
The airport names no coach staging area; the vehicle is timed to the flight instead. Where a group arrives across both terminals, list which terminal each flight uses, and expect a gap between the international and domestic groups reaching the kerb.

Choosing the first drop
City Place is only about 7 km away, and the Cairns Convention Centre is on the corner of Wharf and Sheridan streets. From Cairns, allow about 25 minutes to Palm Cove and an hour to Port Douglas. There are no toll roads in Far North Queensland.
For Port Douglas, set the hotel check-in window before booking flights: an afternoon landing plus an hour's drive puts a group at the resort around dinner time.

Reef days and Kuranda
Boats to the reef and to Green and Fitzroy islands leave from the Reef Fleet Terminal, so a morning departure means an early hotel pickup. Kuranda works as a split day: the Scenic Railway one way and Skyrail the other, so the booking covers a set-down at the first terminal and a repositioned pickup at the far end. Skyrail's Smithfield terminal has oversized-vehicle parking and is a quarter of an hour north of the city.
Questions
Can the group go straight to the Daintree?
Yes, as a long day. Allow about 1.5 hours from Cairns to the Daintree River ferry. Queues build in school holidays, and tourism buses may use the priority lane while it is managed.
Does a guided rainforest stop need a permit?
Commercial tours in Queensland national parks, including Daintree and Barron Gorge, need a Commercial Activity Permit. Ask who holds it. Mossman Gorge, 20 km past Port Douglas, has its own centre with parking and a shuttle into the gorge.
What should the request cover?
Flights and terminals, headcount, bags and dive gear, the first destination, and any boat or train times to meet.
