Airport group transfers: pickup zones and staging
Sixteen airports, capital-city hubs and regional terminals alike. For each one: the group collection point, whether a vehicle can wait, and the drive time into town.
Only three publish a holding area
Sydney, Brisbane and Gold Coast publish somewhere for a coach to wait. Melbourne and Perth allocate bus zones, Avalon has a Bus Zone, Hobart and Launceston run a boom-gated commercial lane, and Cairns has commercial zones. Canberra, Darwin, Alice Springs, Townsville, Newcastle and Sunshine Coast publish no coach arrangement, and the vehicle is called in once the group is at the kerb.
Access is licensed
Most of the larger airports charge operators for access and require registration, a permit or a licence before any pre-booked pickup. The operator holds these, not the group. The new Western Sydney International airport has no page yet; passenger flights there are due to start in late October 2026.
Questions
What should I send for an airport pickup?
Flight numbers, landing times, terminal, headcount per flight and bags per person.
Can the vehicle wait at the kerb?
Rarely. Terminal frontages are for immediate loading; waiting happens in a holding area, an allocated zone or away from the airport.
Can the departure go on the same quote?
Yes. List the outbound flights too; arrival and departure legs then share one quote.
