Bus Rentals in Australia & New Zealand

Who books the vehicle, and who runs it

We are a booking service for group ground transport in Australia. Partner operators supply the coaches, minibuses and cars and employ the drivers; we plan the movements, obtain the quote and manage the booking through to the final transfer.

Where responsibility sits

We take the brief, choose an operator whose vehicles and base suit it, have it priced and confirm it in writing. The operator provides the vehicle, the driver and the insurance, and answers for safety, routing and driving hours on the road. Changes to times, addresses or numbers come through us, so there is one record of the job.

The standard an operator has to meet

A partner operator needs the accreditation its own state or territory sets for passenger vehicles of the kind it runs, and the insurance Australian law requires of it. Those rules shift with vehicle size. In NSW, a car or van with 12 seats or fewer, driver included, is point to point transport, while a bus service needs Transport for NSW accreditation. In Victoria, anything built to seat 10 or more adults counting the driver is a bus. A full-size coach calls for an MR or HR licence, and in NSW the driver also carries a Bus Driver Authority.

What this site leaves out

Prices, because the operator sets the figure for your date, hours, distance and vehicle; it appears on the single quote for your trip, and no charge is made before you accept it. Seats on scheduled services or packaged tours: every booking is one vehicle reserved for one group. And a vehicle list of our own, since none of the coaches or cars belong to us.

How an operator is chosen

Compliance is checked before anything else. After that it is a question of fit: the correct vehicle size available on your date, a base close enough to reach the first pickup without a long empty run, and existing access at the airports the job uses. Sydney, Brisbane, Gold Coast, Melbourne and Cairns all require operators to register, hold a licence or carry a permit before collecting passengers, so an operator already set up there removes a step from the plan.

Where the planning notes come from

The airport, port, city and event notes across this site draw on airport operators, port authorities, councils, state transport agencies, the NHVR and event organisers. Distances and drive times are approximate, and peak traffic adds to them. Rules are revised often; if a timing depends on one, flag it in the request and the operator confirms it at quote stage.
